LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) – A 6-foot-10, 245-pound post player from Parker, Colo., has verbally committed to Wyoming.
Jonathon Barnes averaged 14.9 points and 9.5 rebounds a game last season as a junior at Ponderosa High. Last year was just his second year of playing organized basketball.
Barnes says he chose Wyoming because it is close to his family and can develop players like himself. In addition, he says he found a sense of home in Laramie.
Barnes received recruiting interest from about two dozen schools, including Utah, Belmont, Pepperdine, Washington State and Michigan State.
