Crews Rescue Horse After It Falls In Well
LOUISVILLE, Colo. (CBS4) - A horse had to be rescued after it was injured on Sunday night when it fell into a concrete well that was approximately eight feet deep.
The horse, named "Rocket," was partially submerged in water after it fell in but its head was above the water line.
The horse had gotten out of its pen and had fallen into the 8-foot well. It was submerged, but its head was out of the water.
An animal specialist gave the horse a sedative and the horse was lifted to safety on Monday morning by rescue crews from North Metro Fire District and other agencies. After being lifted out it was quickly covered with blanket.

"Injury-wise, he doesn't have too many, but he hit his head a lot, so we don't know what's going on that way," Rocket's owner Brandi Brady said.
"This was a unique incident, so we needed a lot of manpower on board to help to get this horse out safely," Sarah Farris with North Metro Fire said.
Farris said normally rescue crews would try to lift the horse out upright, but because the way the animal was struggling, it flipped itself over. She said the veterinarian on hand advised them that it was okay to lift the horse out of the well feet first.
According to Farris the horse wasn't familiar with the particular area it was in and it was dark when it fell into the well.
Brady said it will take three to four months for Rocket to recover.
