Accused Ebel Gun Buyer Scheduled To Plead Guilty
DENVER (AP) - The woman accused of buying the gun used to kill Colorado's prisons chief is scheduled to enter a guilty plea.
Stevie Marie Vigil is set to appear in court Tuesday afternoon to plead guilty to giving a firearm to a felon, Evan Ebel. He's the only suspect in the March 19 slaying of corrections chief Tom Clements and the killing of computer technician and pizza deliveryman Nathan Leon two days earlier.
Vigil announced her intention to change her plea earlier this month.
Even though there's no plea deal, a guilty plea could help her gain a lighter sentence. The 22-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison.
