BAILEY, Colo. (CBS4) – “Never give up” — that’s the motto of Colorado’s new Teacher of the Year.
The Department of Education on Monday handed out the prestigious honor to Elizabeth Miner. She’s a physical education teacher at Fitzsimmons Middle School in Bailey.
Miner stands out because of her “can-do” spirit and the technique of combining other courses such as reading and math into her gym classes.
“My philosophy is the more practice these kids get in different skills, the better off they are going to be,” Miner said.
Miner said she accepted the award on behalf of her students and the entire town of Bailey.
