Lakewood Police Search For Armed, Dangerous Man Who Cut Off Ankle Bracelet

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Lakewood police say a man who cut off his ankle monitor is armed and dangerous.

Randy Rodriguez, 41, has a long criminal record with charges of domestic violence along with drug and weapons possessions. Police say he was out on a $2,500 bond and was required to wear the ankle device when he assaulted his ex-girlfriend last month.

Police are now asking for help from the public in tracking him down. They warn not to approach Rodriguez and to call 911 immediately.

Rodriguez has been arrested 31 times since the early 1990s. At least seven of those were for domestic violence or assault and nearly a dozen more were for drug and weapons possessions.

On Rodriguez's Facebook page he describes himself in a more positive light. He says he's someone with "great compassion" and even calls himself "a healer and a helper to others." However, also on his Facebook page there photos with Rodriguez shown with a gun pointed to his head.

Anyone with information on Rodriguez's whereabouts is asked to call Lakewood police.
