Woman Struck By Deer After She Strikes Fawn

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (CBS4)- A woman is recovering after she stopped to see if a fawn she struck was okay only to be struck by the young deer's mother after it was hit by another vehicle.

It happened this morning on Highway 24 near the Walmart in Woodland Park.

The woman got out of her car after she struck a fawn.

Another driver stopped to help her and that's when a third vehicle crashed into a full-grown deer, likely the fawn's mother.

That deer flew into the woman who struck the fawn. She was seriously injured.

Traffic along the highway was backed up for about an hour to clear up the mess.
