DENVER (CBS4) - Denver police would like the public's help locating a vehicle involved in an attempted abduction last week.

According to police, last Tuesday at about 9 p.m. a woman was walking on East 7th Avenue near Gilpin Street.

"At the mouth of the Franklin/Gilpin alley she was grabbed by two unknown parties who were masked and wearing dark clothing and tried to pull her into the alley," police said in a statement. "She fought her assailants and they fled the area."

The victim told police the suspects got into a waiting vehicle that crashed into a dumpster when trying to flee the alley. The SUV lost the driver side mirror and parts of the tail light and a reflector.

Police collected the SUV's parts and brought them to an auto dealer who identified the SUV as likely being a late 1990s gold colored Nissan Pathfinder.

Anyone with information is asked to call Denver police at (720) 913-2000. Remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-STOP (7867). Text to CRIMES (274637) then title DMCS and enter the message or send an e-mail to metro-denvercrimestoppers.com.
