Denver Health Gets New Water Birthing Pool

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Health Medical Center is now offering a new option for expectant mothers as the hospital showed off its new water birth pool on Monday.

The pool will be used when an expectant mother decides to give birth in water.

Brooke Willard is 35 weeks into her pregnancy and she said she is excited to now have the water birth option.

"Water birthing to me feels like a much more natural setting to give birth in. It's calming, soothing, it's helping with that pain in between. So it's going to help create a better environment," Willard said.

Denver Health joins University of Colorado Hospital in offering water birth. The practice is also offered at private birthing centers.
