LYONS, Colo. (CBS4) – Members of Utah’s National Guard are now on their way to Colorado to help repair roads damaged by the flooding.

The 120 members of an Engineering Battalion will work on Highway 36 between Lyons and Estes Park. Colorado will use state funds to pay them because of the federal government shutdown.

Once Washington gets back to work the state will get its money back.

The soldiers helped build roads in Iraq and Afghanistan and after Hurricane Katrina.
