DENVER (CBS4) - A Denver group is teaching students the importance of business and they’re doing it one student at a time.
Colorado YouthBiz is leading the way for young entrepreneurs to step up and step out.
“These young people have brilliant minds and incredible passions and interests that are going to fuel our economy very soon,” said Brandy Bertram, Executive Director of Colorado YouthBiz. “We invest in the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and thinkers and doers.”
Bertram’s passions run deep.
“I grew up feeling that wealth with something that was not restricted,” Bertram said. “If you were willing to learn the game and play the game and work, that anything was possible.”
Bertram and YouthBiz get other business leaders to learn the importance of leading the way.
“Business is about people and you have to invest in your people, both today and in the future, if you want your business to thrive,” she said.
The YouthBiz Bash is Colorado YouthBiz’s signature event with young entrepreneurs and local celebrities modeling clothes from local boutiques — but education is important and 24/7.
“We program year-round, 365 days a year nearly; and the staff will tell you almost 24/7,” Bertram said. “This isn’t about ‘come cry about what we don’t have’ or necessarily the barriers that we face. This is about ‘look what we can accomplish when given access and resources.’ “
