Semi Filled With Barley Spills On Way To Brewery

MORRISON, Colo. (CBS4)- A semi truck hauling barley to the Miller Coors Brewery tipped over, spilling everything on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened on U.S. Highway 285 near Indian Hills and west of the city limits of Morrison just before noon.

"The semi was coming around the corner. He was loaded with barley headed to the Miller-Coors bottling plant. As he came around the corner the vehicle rolled over onto his left side and continued sliding down the roadway," said Colorado State Patrol Trooper Blake White.

The semi spilled a couple thousand pounds of barley across the road.

The northbound lanes of the highway were closed for about two hours during cleanup. Crews with the Colorado Department of Transportation helped with the cleanup.

All lanes reopened about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The driver of the semi, a 46-year-old male from Colorado, suffered minor injuries but is expected to recover.
