Guilty Verdict For Man Accused Of Shooting Westminster Police Officer
WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) - A man accused of shooting at a police officers during a traffic stop has been found guilty.
Jurors found Larry Gomez guilty of attempted murder of a police officer and first-degree assault.
Prosecutors said Gomez shot at a Denver police officer on Nov. 6, 2012 and a Westminster police officer a week later.
Gomez was arrested on Nov. 9 following a vehicle and foot pursuit. Officers shot him as he fled on foot.
A trial for the shooting in Denver is set for November.
