Driver's Own Truck Rolls Over Him In Deadly Accident

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- State troopers said that a truck driver who got out to check a mechanical issue was run over by his own truck.

Colorado State Patrol investigated the accident on Plainview Road north of Highway 72 about 1 p.m. Wednesday. That's near the mouth of Coal Creek Canyon in Jefferson County.

The man was driving a dump truck and gravel hauler that was being used for flooding repairs to railroad tracks about one-half mile from where the accident happened.

State troopers said the man, who has not been identified, pulled over to the side of the road to investigate a mechanical issue at the rear of the truck.

The truck then rolled backwards over the man and killed him.

The name of the company he worked for has not been released.
