Denver City Council Considers Payout To Excessive Force Victims

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver City Council will consider a financial settlement in a case highlighted by video.

Four women claim Denver police officers punched and dragged them outside of the Denver Diner in 2009. One of the department's own HALO cameras was recording the incident.

The council will consider paying the four women a total of $360,000 to settle the case. The women say it was excessive force.

Denver's manager of safety also said the officers lied about what happened. Both officers, Kevin Devine and Ricky Nixon, were fired and then re-instated and the city paid them back pay.
