Broncos Pass Rusher Phillips Misses Practice

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) - The Denver Broncos held pass rusher Shaun Phillips out of practice with back spasms Saturday, listing him as questionable for Monday night's game against Oakland.

Phillips, a 10th-year veteran, leads the team with 2 1/2 sacks this season and has seen an increased role in the absence of linebacker Von Miller, who is serving a six-game suspension.

Phillips called his absence, "just precautionary." He says "It's the team looking out for the players. Getting old, you know?"

Already depleted at linebacker, the Broncos could try Adrian Robinson in a pass-rushing role. Earlier this month, the Broncos claimed Robinson off waivers to add depth to a depleted linebacker corps. Robinson played for Pittsburgh last season, but did not record a tackle on special teams or defense.
