BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a 7-year-old boy was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Boulder County.

Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Mike Baker says the boy, whose name has not been released, was sitting in the cargo area of an SUV that went through a red light at the intersection of state highways 119 and 52 just before 9:30 p.m. Friday. The driver did not hit any vehicles, but he swerved to avoid crossing traffic and caused the SUV to roll on its side.

The boy, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at a Boulder hospital.

The driver, 41-year-old Manual Nunez-Luna of Longmont, sustained minor injuries, as did six other passengers, including four children ages 5 through 15. Alcohol is suspected to have played a role in the crash.
