2 Men Plead Guilty In Double Murder

DENVER (CBS4)– Two men charged in connection with a double murder from last year have pleaded guilty in the case.

Marquise Lovelle Davis pleaded guilty on Thursday to two counts of second-degree and one count of retaliation against a witness.

Denzel Richardson pleaded guilty earlier this month to two counts of second-degree murder.

Police said on May 25, 2012 about 2 p.m. Davis and Richardson went to the area of Bruce Randolph Avenue and York Street and opened fire into a group of people standing on the sidewalk.

Justin O’Donnell, 21, and Deon Rudd, 30, were killed. Two others were hurt in the gunfire.

Davis, 24, and Richardson, 21, were identified as suspects by Denver police detectives and were arrested a few days later.

Davis faces 64 years in prison when he is sentenced on Sept. 26 and Richardson faces 60 years in prison when he is sentenced on Sept. 27.
