Nuggets Guard Lawson Free On Bond After Arrest

DENVER (AP/CBS4) - Court records show Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson has been arrested on suspicion of charges including harassment.

CBS4 has confirmed reports that Lawson was arrested in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident in Arapahoe County on Saturday. The Denver Post reports Lawson was arraigned Monday. He is free on bond.

Details of the arrest weren't immediately available Monday night.

"We are fully aware of an incident involving Ty Lawson over the weekend. Per team policy and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment at this time," said Nuggets General Manager and Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly.

Lawson signed a four-year contract extension with the team last October. He averaged 16.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.47 steals in 73 games last season.

Sources close to Lawson told CBS4's Vic Lombardi the whole thing involved a girlfriend. There was no physical fight but an argument did lead to a couple of broken cellphones.
