Some Aurora Officers To Get New Training Following Suspect Death

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Aurora's police chief is instituting new training for some officers following the shooting death of a man back in 2011.

A report released on Monday shows patrol officers who work in plain clothes need additional training. That conclusion came after the death of Juan Contreras.

Contreras was shot by an Aurora officer after he punched the officer in the face and pulled a knife during an arrest. Officers were trying to arrest Contreras after he blackmailed a woman for $100 over her car keys.
