Louisville, Parker, Firestone Make This Year's 'Best Places' List

LOUISVILLE, Colo. (CBS4) - For residents of Louisville, news that they have been ranked in the Top 10 in the prestigious Money Magazine "Best Places To Live" list this year is no a big shock.

After all, the eastern Boulder County municipality has been named the No. 1 place to live on the list twice in the past five years.

This year, Louisville was named the No. 2 city for being a "great place to raise a family" with "well-regarded schools and a safe community." It was beaten out only by the New England town of Sharon, Mass.

Editors of Money Magazine noted that the housing market in the city of 18,924 is rising and that the job outlook is "solid." They also praised the restaurants and live music opportunities in Louisville.

Parker was the next Colorado city on the list, coming in at No. 12. The Douglas County city was given high marks in part for its PACE Center and the water park there. Parker has also made the list at least one other time.

Also landing in the Top 25 was Firestone, located in Weld County. The "Rocky Mountain hamlet" -- as it was referred -- was given a rank of 24 despite the fact that it "lacks an extensive downtown."
