MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Dramatic video shows how bad the conditions were when the flooding hit Manitou Springs on Friday.
Glen Dotson was heading up Highway 24 when the wall of water came crashing down the canyon walls. He did what police say not to do — he got out of his car.
Dotson was knocked down but luckily was rescued by a stranger in another vehicle.
“He got me into his car, gave me a blanket, talked to me, calmed me down, and he’s the one who eventually brought me to my friends’ house over here,” Dotson said.
It took a while to get Dotson cleaned up. He even had mud caked in between the dollar bills in his wallet.
