Austin Sigg's Defense Delivered A Blow In Court

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - There was a blow to the defense team Wednesday when a judge ruled two doctors will be allowed to testify in the trial of Austin Sigg.

Prosecutors say Sigg kidnapped 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway when she was on her way to school last October. She was found dead a week later.

On Wednesday prosecutors called two doctors who will testify that injuries found on Ridgeway's body indicate she was sexually assaulted. One is a forensic pathologist and the other a pediatrician specializing in child abuse examinations.

The hearing was used to assess the qualifications of proposed expert witnesses.

Also announced Wednesday was that there are 560 people in the jury pool.

Sigg's trial is set to start next month and last about three weeks.
