BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)- A grandmother will spend the next eight years in prison after she was convicted in the death of her grandson.

Becky Trujillo was sentenced Friday morning to eight years behind bars.

A jury in Adams County convicted Trujillo in June of negligent child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.

Her 4-year-old grandson, Gabriel, died after he was found unresponsive in her home. She told investigators he fell from a chair and struck his head.

Gabe died in February 2011.
