Colorado Democratic Party Chooses New Director

DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Democratic Party has hired a woman who helped with Barack Obama's first presidential campaign to be its next executive director.

Jennifer Koch will replace Alec Garnett, who is seeking the seat of term-limited House Speaker Mark Ferrandino.

Koch, of Littleton, grew up in Summit and Routt counties. She was the northeast deputy political director for Obama's first presidential campaign and also served as deputy White House liaison for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
