Denver's Annual Dragon Boat Festival Underway At Sloan's Lake

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver's annual Dragon Boat Festival kicked off on Saturday.

The festival celebrates Asian culture. People enjoyed the markets, food vendors and of course the dragon boat races.

The theme of this year's festival is "Commit To Be Fit." More than 100,000 people were expected to attend.

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock was at Saturday's event.

"I will tell you this is without question one of my top five favorite events to attend throughout the year," Hancock said. "

The event continues through Sunday. Those attending are asked to park at Sports Authority Field for $5 and then catch the free shuttle over to Sloan's Lake.
