Several Fort Carson Soldiers Involved In Sex Misconduct Case

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- Several Fort Carson soldiers are being investigated in a sexual misconduct case. The allegations involve minors and as many as seven soldiers.

It's believed the soldiers met the girls online and thought they were all 18 years and older.

People who live in the community are shocked at the allegations.

"That is not an excuse as far as I'm concerned," said Colorado Springs resident Stephanie Zenon.

"You would think that our military would be held to a higher standard. So I just really think the whole situation is just very, very shameful."

Fort Carson does confirm it is investigated soldiers for misconduct. A spokeswoman for the Army post said the command is aware of the cases and is closely monitoring the investigation of the soldiers.

She went on to say, "We assure the community that the Army is taking the situation seriously.

Civilian police in Colorado Springs are investigating child-sex allegations involving a soldier from nearby Fort Carson, but they don't know if the case is related to a separate Army investigation.
