Colorado Springs Soldier Among 3 Killed In Afghanistan
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The Defense Department says a 24-year-old from Colorado Springs is among three soldiers killed in Afghanistan.
The military said Thursday that Spc. Rob L. Nichols died Tuesday from wounds he suffered when an improvised bomb exploded.
Also killed were 25-year-old 1st Lt. Jonam Russell of Cornville, Ariz., and 24-year-old Sgt. Stefan M. Smith of Glennville, Ga.
All were assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Ga.
