Colorado Springs Police: Pot Paraphernalia Blamed For 2 Bomb Scares

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Colorado Springs said marijuana paraphernalia is to blame for two bomb scares.

In one neighborhood police used their bomb robot to check out a bag that appeared to have two pipe bombs inside.

Officers were called to the area after reports of an injured man and woman when they found the bag with what appeared to be suspicious devices inside.

"They are not pipe bombs. They are actually devices, plastic PVC pipe with end caps that have been sealed on each end, that contained marijuana," said one detective with the Colorado Springs Police Department.

In the second incident a maintenance manager at an apartment complex found suspicious items in a storage shed. Police said the shed was being used to pull THC out of marijuana.

Investigators do not believe the cases are related.
