Colorado Getting More Childhood Education Funding
DENVER (AP) — Colorado is getting an additional $15 million in supplemental funding for early childhood education from the federal government.
Gov. John Hickenlooper and Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia said Wednesday the funding adds to the nearly $30 million award the state received in December through the Race to the Top education challenge.
The money from the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will be used for training workers and other programs.
