Child Porn Suspect Convicted, Awaits Sentencing

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- A child porn suspect has been convicted for possession of child pornography found in his home.

Wilmer Hau Sosa was convicted of two counts of sexual exploitation of a child for possession of child porn found in his Highlands Ranch home.

Sosa was an 18-year-old high school student at the time of his arrest in 2011.

The images included videos of elementary-school-aged children engaging in sexual acts.

The case against Sosa was built by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the FBI with help from the Rocky Mountain Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory in Centennial.

"The success of this prosecution is in large part the result of the efforts of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, two hardcore prosecutors and the Rocky Mountain Regional Computer Forensics Lab. One of only 16 RCFLs in the country, the expert testimony, photographic exhibits and digital analysis provided by their examiners proved compelling in this child pornography case. Our community is lucky to have the technological expertise and firepower of the RCFL to identify and hold accountable those who would victimize our children using computers, cell phones and digital cameras," said Arapahoe County District Attorney George Brauchler.

Sentencing is set for Sept. 27. Sosa faces a minimum of probation of two to six years in the Department of Corrections on each count.
