2 Burned After Device Explodes In Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Colorado Springs police say a man and woman have been taken to a hospital after a "suspicious device" exploded.

Police say the man had severe burns on his body, and the woman had burns on her legs. Police spokeswoman Barbara Miller says both were taken to Denver for treatment after the explosion Wednesday afternoon.

Investigating officers found a possible pipe bomb in a canvas bag, and a bomb squad is trying to confirm what it was.

Other details weren't immediately available.
