Man Critically Hurt As Car Flips Into South Platte River
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - A man was critically hurt and taken to the hospital early Friday morning after the vehicle he was driving went off the road and landed upside down in the South Platte River near the Denver-Englewood border.
The car was traveling along South Platte River Drive near Evans and Dartmouth in Englewood when the accident happened. Authorities said they suspect the driver was speeding and lost control while trying to overcorrect on a turn.
Emergency crews pulled the person out of the car.
Englewood police said the initial report from the hospital indicated the man was in critical condition.
