Spacecraft Built In Colorado Ready To Head To Mars

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – The next mission to Mars is ready for launch, and the spacecraft was built in Colorado.

On Monday Lockheed Martin in Jefferson County showed off its Maven Orbiter. It will now be disassembled and the parts shipped to Florida. It will be put back together and launched in November.

Maven will study the upper atmosphere of Mars.
