Aurora Police Officer Hurt While Trying To Make Arrest

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A police officer in Aurora is recovering after being injured while trying to make an arrest.

The officer was injured while trying to take a man with an outstanding warrant into custody. That man, Christopher Gibbs, backed into an undercover patrol car.

It happened Wednesday morning in Aurora in the 4200 block of S. Salida Way near the intersection of Salida and Quincy.

Gibbs tried to run away before giving up and allowing officers to take him into custody.

Gibbs and a woman who was a passenger in the car were both arrested.

Gibbs had numerous warrants on car theft related cases. He now faces additional felony charges for Wednesday's incident.
