Broncos, Ryan Clady Could Be Getting Closer To Deal

DENVER, Colo. (CBS4) - The Denver Broncos are hoping to get offensive tackle Ryan Clady signed to a long-term deal before next Monday's deadline.

Clady's camp is asking for more than $12 million a year, which would make him the highest-paid lineman in football.

It's not clear how far apart the two sides are but The Denver Post reported that the Broncos have now offered him more than the original five-year, $50 million proposal from last year.

Clady was eligible for free agency this year, but the Broncos placed a one-year franchise tag on the three-time Pro Bowler. If he doesn't sign by July 15 he could end up playing this season on a one-year $9.823 million salary.

Clady could also choose to hold out the season and try to become a free agent next year, but the Broncos could also place another franchise tag on him.
