JEFFERSON COUNTY (CBS4) – The driver of a semi-truck has died after he lost control and went down an embankment on Highway 285 Monday morning in Jefferson County.

The semi was heading northbound on the highway and struck a guard rail near Shaffer’s Crossing when the crash occurred. The highway had to be closed at mile marker 231.

It’s not clear how long the highway would be closed, but officials said it could take hours.
