Crews Fighting New Wildfire In Foothills

BAILEY, Colo. (AP) - Firefighters are battling a new 2-acre wildfire in the foothills outside Denver but so far it isn't posing a threat to homes.

The Willow Lake Fire was reported Monday, southeast of Bailey.

Residents within a four-mile radius of Long Scraggy Peak have been warned to be ready to leave in case the fire spreads. Warning calls were sent to 119 telephone numbers in Jefferson and Douglas counties.

Two helicopters have been dropping water on the blaze. Rocks above the fire could help slow its spread.
