Phil West, Staple At Boulder County Sheriff's Office Retiring

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - There was a big sendoff Tuesday for a long-time member of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

Division Chief Phil West is retiring after 35 years. He has been the face of the sheriff's office for many years as the public information officer.

West started as one of the original members of the cadet program in the 1970s and quickly rose through the ranks, most recently managing the operations division.

West has received numerous awards throughout his career.
