GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — Coroner’s officials say a man who was killed in a shooting involving Fruita police officers had multiple gunshot wounds.
They identified the man Monday as 61-year-old Lewis Pollard.
Police say officers tried to pull him over around 12:40 a.m. Saturday, and he was shot while allegedly trying to flee.
Details, including whether Pollard was armed and why officers were trying to stop him, haven’t been released. It wasn’t immediately known how many officers fired their weapons.
