Fort Carson Hospital Getting New Sergeant Major

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) - The Fort Carson Medical Department Activity is getting a new command sergeant major.

Ly M. Lac will formally turn the job over to William A. Rost at a ceremony Wednesday at Evans Army Community Hospital on the post outside Colorado Springs.

Lac has been Fort Carson's Medical Department Activity command sergeant major since August 2010. His next assignment is with the Army's Europe Regional Medical Command at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

Rost's previous assignment was command sergeant major for Martin Army Community Hospital and the Medical Department Activity Command at Fort Benning, Ga.

Sergeants major look after the welfare of noncommissioned officers and enlisted personnel and make recommendations to commanders.
