At Least 1 Dead After Car Flips Into Clear Creek Canyon

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Officials in Clear Creek County have put a temporary ban on tubing and other types of recreation in Clear Creek in the Golden area after a car crash in which at least one person died.

Highway 6 was closed at midday in both directions while emergency crews dealt with the crash.

Officials said the vehicle flipped off the road and went into the creek. They determined one person in the vehicle was dead and they were checking to see if there was another body in the car.

Officials said they closed the creek to recreational activities because of the city and Jefferson County resources being tied up in the crash situation.
