Evacuations Ordered For Wildfire South Of Walsenburg
WALSENBURG, Colo. (CBS4) - Approximately 200 residents were under pre-evacuation notice after a wildfire broke out in Huerfano County Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was reported to be about 40 to 50 acres and growing in the Middle Creek area, west of Laveta and South of County Road 440.
Two families have evacuated. Evacuees were told to go to the Huerfano County Community Center in Walsenburg. Animals can be taken to the 4-H fairgrounds in La Veta
The Huerfano Fire Department, Laveta Fire Department and Stonewall Fire Department were all responding to the fire.
