New Holmes Motions Won't Be Released Until Tuesday

DENVER (AP) - Lawyers are expected to file about 100 motions in the Colorado theater shootings before a key deadline, but officials say they won't immediately be available to the public.

Court spokesman Jon Sarche says it probably will be Tuesday before they're released.

James Holmes is accused of killing 12 people and injuring 70 at a suburban Denver theater in July. He faces murder and attempted murder charges. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

Monday was the deadline for both sides to file pretrial motions on issues that don't deal with the death penalty. Because of the number of documents, court officials say they won't have them ready for release till Tuesday.

A judge could accept Holmes' plea of not guilty by reason of insanity at a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
