For Some, Holiday Weekend Means More Skiing

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Aspen Mountain's peak is back open for more skiing and snowboarding over Memorial Day weekend.

Almost 90 acres at the top of Aspen Mountain are open through Monday for people to make turns. Daily adult lift tickets are $36, or $18 for passholders.

The mountain had celebrated its last day of the season April 14, but resort officials decided to reopen some terrain for the holiday weekend after getting more snow since then.

Arapahoe Basin is the only other Colorado ski area still open, with about 350 acres available. And it hasn't closed since opening day last fall. It plans to end its season June 2.
