Aurora 7th Grader Competes In National Geographic Bee

AURORA, Colo. (AP) – A seventh-grader from Aurora represented Colorado in the final round of the National Geographic Bee on Wednesday.

Pranit Nanda was one of 10 students from across the country who competed in Wednesday’s event in Washington, D.C. Twelve-year-old Sathwik Karnik of Plainville, Mass., won the contest.

Pranit is 13-year-old who attends Aurora Quest K-8 School.

The competition was moderated by Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek and will be broadcast Thursday on the National Geographic Channel.
