Adventures In Textiles Showcases Threads Of Art

DENVER (CBS4)– The Denver Art Museum has been known for its galleries of fabric art but now it’s showcasing those threads into art in the new exhibit Spun: Adventures in Textiles.

Those galleries have been re-imagined and renovated into a spectacular new exhibit that’s opening on Sunday.

CBS4 Critic at Large Greg Moody got a sneak peak ahead of the unveiling to the public.

Watch his behind-the-scenes tour below.

There are a number of exhibits within the gallery including Cover Story which is a look at intricate tapestries over the centuries.

There are also displays of Navajo textiles, Spanish textiles, photography and a unique exhibit that features an artist at work in a quilting studio.

Spun: Adventures in Textiles opens May 19 in the north building of the Denver Art Museum. Admission to the exhibit is included with general admission.
