Race Organizers Add Extra Security For Bolder Boulder

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - Participants and spectators in this year's running of the Bolder Boulder should expect to see extra security during the race.

Race organizers say there will be a larger police and emergency services presence along the route.

Officials are using the term "airport rules" to describe the security that will be in place for the route of the 10 kilometer race. That means any unattended bags along the course or in Folsom Field where the race ends will be seized.

Police also said they will enforce "football game rules" inside Folsom Field, which means only small, soft, side bags are allowed. Any item prohibited at a football game will not be allowed in the stadium on Memorial Day.

See the complete list of permitted and prohibited items in the stadium on a special section of the University of Colorado's website.
