Man Accused Of Lighting Home On Fire While On Bath Salts Pleads Not Guilty

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - A man accused of setting a Longmont home on fire while his neighbors were sleeping inside has pleaded not guilty.

Demian Weigle says he couldn't have started the fire because he wasn't in town.

The family of three was able to escape from the blaze last July. According to court documents, Weigle was using bath salts-- a synthetic drug --- and was paranoid. He even thought his neighbors had bugged his home phone and computer.

Weigle told investigators he was in Wyoming at the time of the fire. His trial is set to begin in September.
