Fort Carson Honors 2 Soldiers Who Died In Kuwait

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) — Fort Carson is holding a memorial service for two of its soldiers who died in Kuwait.

Spc. Trinidad Santiago Jr., of San Diego, and Spc. Charles P. McClure, of Stratford, Okla., died May 2 in Camp Buehring, Kuwait, of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. They were assigned to the 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division based at Fort Carson in Colorado.

The Army Post plans a memorial service for them Thursday at its Soldiers' Memorial Chapel.

Fort Carson officials say Santiago joined the Army in 2009 while McClure joined the Army in 2011. Both men deployed to Kuwait in February.

Santiago had previously deployed to Afghanistan.
