'Cinderella' Actress Excited To Sing For Prince Harry

DENVER (CBS4)- Prince Harry has arrived in the U.S. and will soon be in Colorado. When he arrives a woman who is not unfamiliar with being a princess will greet the third in line to the British throne in song.

The prince's week-long visit to America is devoted to wounded victims of war. After visiting Washington the prince travels to the Denver area on Friday, then Colorado Springs where he'll attend this weekend's Warrior Games.

Singers from the University of Denver are planning to welcome Prince Harry with familiar British tunes.

Jenna Bainbridge is a student at DU's Lamont School of Music. She is among those who were selected to perform for the prince.

Bainbridge admits that she hopes her life changes forever on Friday night.

"I'm really hoping that I'm going to get that Cinderella story where he sees me from across the room and he's like, 'I have to have you. Let's get married tomorrow.' Then I can be the next Grace Kelly and my whole life would be complete," joked Bainbridge, referring to the popular American actress who became the Princess of Monaco after her marriage to Prince Rainier III.

Bainbridge knows a thing or two about being Cinderella since she played that role in a production at Boulder's Dinner Theatre last year.

The prince also specifically asked that some of the performers be part of a group for physically challenged students.

"I'm partially paralyzed from the waist down due to a spinal cord injury," said Bainbridge.

Jake Alvarez, who will be playing guitar, said he's excited to shake the prince's hand and perform.

"It's an absolute honor. It's fantastic. I would have never imagined that my freshman year of college I would be performing for royalty," he told CBS4.

The prince's first official appearance in Colorado will come Friday evening when he attends a reception hosted by Beverley Simson, the British consul general for Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. About 100 lawmakers, executives, athletes and university officials have been invited to attend the event at the Sanctuary Golf Course in Douglas County.

More than 200 wounded servicemen and women from the U.S. and Britain will participate in the Warrior Games.

After his stay in Colorado the prince is off to Seaside Heights, New Jersey, then to New York City and Greenwich, Conn.
